California Blogging, Part 3

Ok we drove up to Long Beach from San Diego yesterday along the coastal highway. What we saw can be summed up in two words: surfers and cyclists. It was a hazy saturday and air and temperatures were easily in the 50s but that didn't keep the Californians from enjoying their weekend. I can't tell you how many times we saw the same scene. Car parked on the side of the coastal road, surfer carrying board to car, surfer covering him/herself with a towel, surfer slithering out of wet suit. Also hundreds of cyclists in their Lance Armstrong look-a-like-garb. All as if to mock my fat ass. Anyway we passed through Del Mar, Oceanside, San Clemente, Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, etc, etc.
