Running commentary on WBC championship game.

Japan is winning 4-1 in the bottom of the 2nd. I have two observations so far. The Cuban leadoff hitter, Paret, hit a homerun to left center. ESPN showed the people in Havana's Parque Central watching the game on a big screen TV. My first thought was that I wondered whether they had to sit through that dreadful NIT game that went to double overtime and if it wasn't for a buzzer beater would have gone to TRIPLE OT. My second thought was a smile. They showed they people going crazy when Paret hit the homer and the man who was standing squarely in the foreground with his back to the camera was wearing a T-Shirt with the the American flag on the back. Not Che Guevara, not fidel, but OLD freaking GLORY!

UPDATE: Japan - 10, Cuba 5, Bottom 9th.
