WTF?

When Gloria Estefan made the ridiculous move of putting the unrepentant che-worshipper Carlos Santana on her latest album which she is supposedly dedicating to Cuba, many thought we were making a mountain out of a molehill. "It's about music not politics, they said". An argument I never bought because nobody forced her and here husband to be political in the first place. She is the one who portrayed herself as a Cuban patriot. So she is certainly fair game when she partners with someone whose views are directly opposed to those of us who want freedom for Cuba.

Now, while in Europe promoting her new album (funny how she's been low key around Miami), she says that she'll be voting for Hillary in 2008 because "politics needs more estrogen." How quickly she seems to have forgotten Elian, who was forcibly removed from his Miami family's home by Hillary's husband and his apparently estrogen-deficient attorney general, Janet Reno. It just goes to show you that in this world it's about more than words. You have to walk the walk. And Gloria has just walked over to my shit list for good.
