NYT notices Thompson

Having the NYT write a generally favorable article about you is usually not a good thing, especially in this election where the media makes no secret about its favorites (they want Huckabee because they see him as easy to beat in November and McCain because he sees a lot of issues the way they do).

But even the New York Times could not ignore Fred's most recent debate performance. The media is trying to position Thompson as someone who just "came alive" at the last debate. But that's not true. Many observers felt that Thompson won one of the debates in New Hampshire (a state he was not actively campaigning in).

People who pay attention to politics know who Fred Thompson is and that he's the candidate that best satisfies the various factions of the GOP big tent.
