McCain gets slapped in the face

McCain is taking a beating from Mike Huckabee in a bunch of caucuses and primaries that will ultimately be inconsequential. But it's a sign that what I've been saying all along is correct. McCain is not popular among Republicans and was winning on the basis of triangulation.

Some pundits are asking if Romney pulled out too soon. I don't think so. If Huckabee had pulled out then Romney would have had a fighting chance. But Huckabee was determined to be one of the final two and spoil Romney. Romney made the right call.

As for Huckabee, he's the only guy I place lower than McCain in terms of desirability and electability.
