A vote for Huckabee is a vote for McCain

I don't think many Super Tuesday voters will be reading this blog but as a last ditch effort to save the GOP from a John McCain nomination I want to talk to those people who might be inclined to vote for Mike Huckabee, especially those in the south. We had a good conservative southern candidate running in this race. It was Fred Thompson. Now he's gone and we have what amounts to a 2 way race between John McCain and Mitt Romney. Huckabee CAN NOT win the nomination. A vote for Huckabee is therefore in essence a vote for McCain.

If you are among the millions of people that don't really pay attention to politics until the last minute before election/caucus day then let me tell you a little bit about McCain. In the wake of his losing the nomination to George W. Bush in 2000, he began talking with the Democrats about a possible party switch. In 2004 he reached out to the Democrat nominee, John Kerry, about being his running mate. John McCain sponsored a campaign finance bill that greatly restricts our first amendment rights to political speech. McCain wants to pass a "Cap and Trade" bill about CO2 emissions. What that means is energy taxes so that the U.S. can appear to be a good world citizen with regards to man-made climate change. The last thing we need is the standard-bearer of the GOP to be a global warming kool-aid drinker.

Now Mitt Romney is probably someone you don't know much about. And some people want to vote against him because of his Mormon faith. I'm here to tell you that it's better to have a Mormon in the White House than an adherent to the global warming religion. Mitt Romney is an accomplished businessman who fixed sick companies. He ran for and won the governorship as a Republican in the Democrat stronghold of Massachusetts. As a result some people say he is a liberal. But he is not talking like a liberal. He's talking like a conservative all the while McCain attacks him for committing the sin of seeking a profit. McCain voted against the Bush tax cuts that are set to expire in 2010. Yes he says he wants to make them permanent now, but at the time he said they were to beneficial to the rich. Class warfare from your GOP front-runner, how quaint.

Folks in Georgia, Tennessee and Alabama you need to make a decision. Is the GOP going to be the conservative party or is it going to be Democrat Light (One third less liberalism than your regular Democrat)?
