California Blogging, Part 6

Yesterday we started out in Pismo Beach and headed up the coast. Below you'll see pictures of Morro Bay, the Hearst Castle at San Simeon, Elephant Seals at one of the many vista points along the highway, sunset from another vista point and Ana and I standing on the 18th green at the World Famous Pebble Beach Golf Resort. There's a big Pro/Am event going on and last night we had dinner in the Tap Room where we saw Huey Lewis, Dennis Quaid, and James Woods among others. Besides that, dinner was great because I got to catch up with my old friend Erik Bethel. Erik's late father worked in the US embassy in Havana in the late 50s and later wrote a book about the communist take over of Cuba, called "The Losers." Erik is currently a councilman in Carmel. He's the first Cuban-American elected to political office in the state of California. He's a Naval Academy graduate and an all around great guy who is married to a wonderful woman named Michelle.
