Herald Watch on the radio

Jim Defede has invited me on his radio show to discuss the Miami Herald and the Martí Moonlighters with him and Bob Norman of the Broward-Palm Beach New Times and The Daily Pulp.

It's set for 7:30 AM, Thursday, September 14, 2006. You can listen live here. I know, I know, it's a liberal show on a liberal station but it's a chance to tell the other side of the story.

You'll remember that Jim Defede was fired as a columnist from The Miami Herald when he told his bosses that he had recorded a phone conversation between himself and the late Commissioner Arthur Teele (without Teele's consent) right before Teele shot himself to death in the lobby of the Herald Building.

At the time, Herald Executive editor Tom Fiedler said that Defede had violated the law as well as journalistic ethics. After an inivestigation, Defede was not charged with any crime. I'm sure Mr. Defede has an opinion on The Herald's ethical standards as how they are enforced.

Nice job bro! Your points came across very clear. Bob Norman was all over the place, especially with the whole "propaganda" thing, just playing to the gallery. Very cool.
