Our rapidly changing skyline

I was listening to Harry Shearer's podcast, le Show, the other day and he was in Miami promoting something. He mentioned that if you have a shortage of construction cranes in your town that it's because they are all in Miami. It was one of those comments that you hear and don't pay much atttention to. But as I was leaving work yesterday at dusk (I work on South Beach), crossing the bridge into Miami, I noticed literally dozens of high-rise buildings that are under construction. Shearer's words came back to me. I guess this is the kind of thing you take for granted when you are busy listening to the radio, talking on your cell phone or worrying about other things.
