Rapid Repression Brigades

Luis M. Garcia has an excellent post about Cuba's "Rapid Response Brigades". When somebody says something the government doesn't like these days a gang of thugs shows up and beats that person into submission.

The government can then claim that it's not repressing the people. But obviously that's just a thinly-veiled concoction for the media that laps it up, yum yum. Well, Secretos de Cuba has a great picture showing exactly how it is that these Rapid Repression Brigades (let's call the what they are) get around in a country where transportation for most is woeful.
