Hurricane Relief
As you know, hurricane Dennis cut through Cuba ripping roofs, destroying houses and killing many Cubans. We also know that whatever death count Fidel gives is in fact a lie and an understatement. Raices de Esperanza, a Cuban American Student Association is coordinating a relief effort through the Catholic Church (the only non-communist/government organism on the Island). Here is a letter they sent me, please read it and take action.
HURRICANE DENNIS CUBAN RELIEF EFFORT
The situation in Cuba continues to worsen and the news tells only half the story. The death toll is at 16 and continues to rise. In several areas over 90% of homes are destroyed and people throughout the island are without running water or lectricity.
We have been working for several days to find the most effective means for sending aid fast and directly to the Hurricane victims in desperate need of relief.
We have found that our best option at the moment is to raise funds and to send it through the church - specifically the Vatican - where it will go straight to the Cuban people. Our focus is to send fast and direct relief for the victims of Hurricane Dennis in Cuba without the Cuban government’s interference.
We are currently trying to raise funds to send to Cuba through the Catholic Church.
Donations, in check or money order form, can be made out to:
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, with “Hurricane Dennis Cuban Relief" in the memo section.
Checks can be mailed to:
Msgr. Tomas Marin
Our Lady of Guadalupe Church

ALL DONATIONS – NO MATTER HOW SMALL – WILL TRULY MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT THIS CRITICAL MOMENT FOR THE CUBAN PEOPLE.
If you have any questions or need help, please contact us at info@raicesdeesperanza.org. We truly appreciate your concern for the Cuban people and willingness to help!
